Shelby Beck is a recent honors graduate from the University of Florida where she majored in Environmental Science. Prior to beginning her work at the university, Shelby interned at a wide variety of locations, including at every level of government, and volunteered for the local nonprofit Gainesville Thrives. She also worked on research in the Soil and Water Sciences Department at UF focusing on the integration of policy into sustainability theory, for which she was published as a co-author in Journal of Environmental Management. Last summer, Shelby worked in the UF Federal Relations Offices as their summer intern, which furthered her passion for government relations and advocacy that she hopes to continue to grow in her role as our Associate. In the office, Shelby works to administratively support the university's federal lobby team, and assists with policy and program research, events and scheduling, and coordinating the office's Washington Internship Program.
