Director of Community Relations

A native Floridian, and resident of Gainesville since 2006, Karen joined the government and Community Relations team in 2016 and has served in a variety of roles focusing on community impact, communications, advocacy, and outreach. Karen is also engaged with the GCR efforts in Tallahassee and Washington, D.C., managing special projects, interdepartmental initiatives, and key stakeholder events that showcase the university’s positive impact throughout our local, state, and national communities.  Karen has strong professional ties to local nonprofit and service organizations through her previous experience at the Community Foundation of North Central Florida, and through her active involvement as a volunteer in our community. 

As Director of Community Relations, Karen leads the UF Campaign for Charities, Gators Volunteer, and other community engagement initiatives.
