Emma Putnam serves as a Communications Intern for the University of Florida’s Government and Community Relations team. She is a sophomore at the University of Florida pursuing a degree in agricultural communications with a minor in agricultural and natural resource law and a certificate in public affairs. Born in Bartow, Florida, Emma is a sixth-generation Floridian, third-generation Gator, and a member of her family’s citrus and cattle ranching business in Polk County, Florida. A graduate of Houston High School in Germantown, Tennessee, Emma interned for Representative David Kustoff (TN-8) and represented the state at Girls Nation. As a Gator, Emma currently serves as the Director of University Relations for Student Government External Affairs, Assistant Director of Florida Blue Key’s Keystone Florida program, and Director of Alumnae Engagement for Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She is passionate about public policy issues in the agriculture and conservation areas. Following graduation, Emma hopes to pursue a Juris Doctor and work in an agriculturally related field.
