Dr. Carrie Blanchard Bush is the Assistant Vice President for Administration and External Relations in the Office of Government and Community Relations. In this position, Carrie plays a key role in executing administrative projects and connecting internal and external constituencies with the University of Florida. She also maintains responsibilities in UF operations and has a dual appointment in the Office of the Senior Vice President for Construction, Facilities, and Auxiliary Operations. Carrie’s professional background includes overseeing intergovernmental affairs for two municipalities, serving as the director of research and public policy for a statewide research foundation, teaching undergraduate and graduate students as an assistant professor of public administration, and leading operational initiatives at the University of Florida.
Carrie received a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from the University of Miami, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Miami, and a Ph.D. in public administration and policy from Florida State University. Carrie has also served the Gainesville community as a member of the Alachua County Public Schools Half Cent Tax Oversight Committee and the Gainesville Community Reinvestment Area Advisory Board.
