Alex Krigstein serves as the Deputy Director of Federal Government Relations for the University of Florida. Previously, Alex worked for the State University of New York System. While there, he served as Associate Director for Federal Relations responsible for articulating and advancing SUNY’s federal policy agenda across the University’s 64 campuses before Congress and the Administration. Prior to SUNY, he served as Legislative Correspondent for Congressman Daniel Maffei of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Alex brings valuable experience to our federal relations team, having served in leadership positions on the AAU Council on Federal Relations Steering Committee, The Science Coalition, and currently on the APLU Council on Governmental Affairs. Alex received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Dowling College, NY. Alex currently lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife and young son.
