Community Outreach and Engagement Network

The Community Outreach and Engagement Network brings together University of Florida faculty and staff who are involved in outreach, engagement, and community-based programs. The purpose of the group is to strengthen collaboration, increase awareness of UF’s community engagement efforts, and create a shared space for learning, connection, and resource sharing.

Through regular meetings, guest speakers, project updates, and open discussions, the group provides a platform for participants to share best practices, discover opportunities for partnership, and collectively enhance UF’s impact in the community. The group includes representatives from across campus—including outreach staff, faculty, and communicators—who work directly with community programs, service-learning, and public engagement efforts.

What We Do

  • Host monthly meetings to exchange ideas and program/event updates
  • Feature guest speakers highlighting UF and community initiatives
  • Maintain a directory of UF outreach programs and initiatives
  • Collaborate on strategies for increasing visibility and impact of UF's community work

Get Involved

If you are a UF faculty or staff member engaged in community outreach or public engagement—or if you’re simply interested in learning more—we welcome your involvement!

To join the group, suggest a topic or guest speaker, or share an initiative, please contact Karen Thomas, Director, UF Community Relations.
